The C PUMA electric motor consists of a control unit that "connects" to the dental chair via the 4/6-hole cord (turbine cord), as well as to a power supply via a transformer. A flexible hose runs from this unit, at the end of which the electric micro motor is located. The unit can be fixed or "placed" on the chair/cart.
The unit is controlled by the dental chair pedal, which starts or stops the micro motor.
The advantage of this unit is that it allows an electric micro motor to be used and its speed to be controlled, without any modifications to the dental chair. If the chair is only fitted with a pneumatic motor, or if the chair's electric motor is faulty, you can simply have a working electric motor in a straightforward manner.
The unit is designed to work with three types of contra-angle. Green contra-angles with a 16:1 ratio, blue contra-angles with a 1:1 ratio, or red contra-angles with a 5:1 ratio.
You must specify which type of contra-angle is "fitted" on the motor in order to obtain a correct reading of the programmed speed.
The rotation speed of the file/bur can thus be adjusted very precisely within a range from 100 rpm to 200,000 rpm. The direction of rotation is also adjustable.
The micro motor is of the brushless type. (Brushless).
It can be disconnected for autoclave sterilisation.
It is of course fitted with an LED light.
